Health Camp for the Public held, in collaboration with EXPRESS Media

The health camp was organized on 22.4.2009, on the request of Express media administration which was holding a national health campaign for the education of public. And in Faisalabad they wished to organize the health campaign with the help & collaboration of emed.

 

One day before the camp, the Express media carried out an advertisement campaign in TV & newspaper to inform the public.

 

The team of doctors from emed included Prof Dr Ahmad Bilal, Dr Khurram Sohail Raja, Dr Hina Ayesha, Dr Humaira Arshad, Dr Owais Fazal, Dr Rizwan Rasool Khan, Dr Omer, Dr Naseem, Dr Farooq, Dr Haseeb, Dr Siddiqa, Dr Madeeha and others & the services offered were free sugar & cholesterol testing, bone mineral density, bone mass index, calcium & Vitamin D calculation & blood grouping.

 

The proceedings started at 2:00 p.m. & hundreds of people along with press & media people attended the camp & utilized the services.

 

Camp followed by a class room session in which Dr Khurram Raja introduced emed objectives & programs. He stressed upon the importance of ‘emed Scouts & Guides’ program that emed is launching in September 2009. He motivated people to join hands with emed to make the program a success.

 

Prof Ahmad Bilal presented the importance of Vitamin D for a healthy life under the heading of ‘Diffuse the Bomb’ & stressed upon the people to sit in natural sunlight to complete their body requirements of Vitamin D which is important to prevent many dangerous diseases including many cancers.

 

Associate Professor & Child Specialist, Dr Hina Ayesha threw light upon various children diseases linked with the deficiency of Vitamin D & complemented the observations & recommendations of Prof Bilal, She also stressed upon the need of promotion of breast feeding to the newly born by mothers.

 

Assistant Professor & Gynecologist, Dr Humaira Arshad wanted public to aware future mothers on potential health threats. She introduced her ‘Healthy quiz’ program in girl’s colleges of Faisalabad. She complemented Dr Khurram & said their efforts are not personal but for the health consciousness of the people.

 

Senior Resident Editor of Daily Express, Mr Zafar Dogar remained present in the campaign, availed facilities of tests & vowed to help & support emed in all their projects.

 

Prof Ahmad Bilal & Dr Khurram Raja thanked Mr Zafar Dogar, Mr Naseer Cheema & all the staff of Express media for the organization of the camp. The camp got complete coverage in electronic & paper media.
