emed has a long standing working relation ship with the administration of The City School & the project ‘Coordinated School Health System’ is always strengthened by the school.
On different occasions, Prof Ahmad Bilal, Dr Khurram Raja, Dr Zahid Masood Khan & Dr Hina Ayesha delivered informative & awareness lectures for the students & teachers of this school.
Recently the kindergarten session of the school organized a month long campaign in which representatives of different professions were invited & introduced to the children of nursery & kindergarten classes. Principal Nursery & KG section, Mrs Shaheena Babar requested emed to send a health team to the school so that kids can be introduced to the health representatives.
On 16.4.2009, an emed health team comprising of Dr Khurram Raja, Dr Omer Nasar, Dr Siddiqa Javed, Dr Madeeha & a 3rd year undergraduate staff nurse Miss Atiya visited the school & passed on important information about doctors, nurses, patients, hospitals & medical equipment.
In the 1st stage health team addressed the general assembly of the school giving information to the children on the health & medical related issues & demonstrated the use of thermometer, stethoscope, BP apparatus & showed things as bandages, syringes, tablets & injections.
In 2nd stage health team exclusively took an interactive lecture of nursery & KG class to tell them about oral hygiene, tooth care, how to wash hands?, how to brush teeth?, how to note the temperature? etc.
Children were demonstrated on applying various bandages, how to dispose of used syringes, recording the temperature & noting the blood pressure.
Mrs Shaheena Babar & her teaching staff also attended both sessions & thanked the emed health team for passing on such vital & important information to the kids. She was sure that kids would be able to recognize health profession in a much better way.
