Hepatitis Screening Camps for the City Traffic Wardens
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Faisalabad, SP Mr Sarfraz Falki, requested emed & All Pakistan Diabetes & Endocrine Society to screen out their 1040 traffic wardens for Hepatitis B & C.
For the purpose, 4 screening camps were arranged on February 24th, 25th & March 2nd & 5th 2009 in the main building of Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC).
The opening ceremony of the august occasion was held on 24.2.2009 at 2:00 p.m. & Chairman CPLC, Mr Azhar was the chief guest on the occasion. After inauguration, the chairman visited various desks organized for the reception, registration, screening & free medical advice for the traffic police wardens.
Senior Vice President emed, Mr Tariq Mushtaq & General Secretary emed, Dr Khurram Raja supervised the camps while 5 doctors were present to give free medical advice. emed members from the city traffic police performed the duties of receiving & registration of the traffic wardens.
300 traffic wardens were screened in every camp & unfortunately quite a high number of young traffic wardens were found Hepatitis B & C positive.
On last day SP Sarfraz Falki visited the camp & monitored screening of his police force. On behalf of Prof Ahmad Bilal city traffic police department was offered to have training & awareness workshop for the wardens who were diagnosed positive for Hepatitis. Mr Sarfraz Falki thanked emed on their kind organization of screening camps & accepted the offer of further workshops.
Dr Khurram Raja thanked the City Traffic Department, CPLC & particularly cooperation & hospitality offered by Mr Mohammad Sadiq & Mr Faisal. He also thanked emed members including Mubashir, Dastgir & others for their help in arranging the camps.
