I am a “retired” toxicologist who is still active in consultancy, education and in strengthening the chemical basis of toxicology through projects sponsored by the International Union of Pure & Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). I have nearly 200 publications & edited and contributed to the textbook “Fundamental Toxicology” published by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Present Job Description
Consultant toxicologist, providing expert assessment of toxicology data, reports on the assessment of exposure to chemicals and subsequent health effects of inorganic chemicals and correct use of terminology.
Future Plans
To continue my activities in toxicology as long as my health permits.
Common Health Problems in your Country
In my country, Scotland, malnutrition including alcoholism & cancer (especially lung cancer) are common.
Would you like to be a part of health promotion & awareness campaign if initiated in your country?
I do what I can but there are many such campaigns & they have never been very successful.

My present job title is ‘Project Coordinator’ for strengthening Forensic Medicine in Afghanistan & I am responsible for management & coordination of the project which is supposed to strengthen Forensic Medicine all over Pakistan.
Future Plans
After achieving my 1st ambition of completing my above mentioned project, I have to do my Master degree & PhD in one of the disciples of medicine to whom my country is in need.
Common Health Problems in your Country
Although a great number of people of my country are suffering from ‘Post Traumatic Distress Syndrome (PTDS)’ as a result of the problems over past few decades, the most common problem is peptic ulcer, high blood pressure & this can be found in any part of my country.

Its something that I have been waiting for. Though many efforts are going on in my country but quite a lot more can be done.
