Diabetes Awareness Week (November 6th to 14th 2006)
Health Camp at Clock Tower Faisalabad, Pakistan

In series of Diabetes Awareness Week, a Health Camp was held at the heart of Faisalabad City & its eight main bazars i.e. Clock Tower with the full co-operation & participation of the public representatives of the area.

emed members started their campaign with distribution of free awareness literature in every shop of the bazaars & this was done by Dr Ahmad Bilal, Dr Khurram Raja & doctors from Medical Unit-III of Allied Hospital & 3rd year students from Faisalabad University.

Camp comprised of,
• Distribution of 12 pamphlets for teaching & informing people about healthy life style, balanced diet, all information about exercise, diet plans in diabetes, routine tests in diabetes, Heart disease, complications of diabetes as kidney, eyes, foot care, parathyroidism, obesity etc
• Free cholesterol & sugar screening camps
• Free advice by consultants as Dr Ahmad Bilal, Dr Mohammad Javed, Dr Zeeshan, Dr Ijaz & others

Teams were accompanied by the representatives of different merchant unions, President Katchery Bazaar & area Nazim Mr Faiz Mohe ud Din, President Exporters Association, Sheikh Bashir & President of Yarn Market, Mr Sheikh Munnawar.

Screening camp of sugar & cholesterol was arranged in the vicinity of clock tower where hundreds of people got their free screening & free advice from Dr Ahmad Bilal & his team mates.
