Lecture on Communicable Diseases

Beacon house School Faisalabad in collaboration with emed is raising the levels of health education of its staff & students. On Monday, 31.10.2005, Head of Community Medicine, Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, Pakistan, Dr Zahid Masood Khan delivered a multimedia presentation on 'Communicable Diseases' to all the six sections of Level-5 as the topic is included in the curriculum of the level. emed comprised of Dr Zahid & Dr Khurram who were able to strengthen the objectives of emed in the school & dispensed knowledge from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to various sections of level-5 students.

It was matter of great interest shown by the administration of school that Headmistress of the branch, Mrs Dure Shehwar Saleem attended one of the sessions & witnessed herself the benefit of this effective health education process.

Children of level-5 were very agile, energetic & well informed about communicable diseases. They very intelligently answered questions put by the speaker & had many queries in return. Hepatitis, mumps, measles, whooping cough & other diseases were main interest of the children & they wanted to have knowledge about their source of infection, isolation during incubation period & how these communicable diseases can be prevented.

emed Coordinator for Beacon house, Miss Zainab Rafique was found highly motivated in arrangements of such sessions that really enhance level of information of teachers who can then train their students in a better way.
