Health system is the backbone of a school & plays most vital role in early diagnosis of a health problem, regular health scanning & dealing health emergencies in school. Feeling great need of introducing a proper school health system, emed becomes pioneer to hold a workshop in the senior section of Beaconhouse
School, Faisalabad on the request of Headmistress Mrs Dur-e-Shehwar which she sent to Prof A.G. Rehan, Principal Punjab Medical College.

This one day workshop was held on Friday, 25.2.2005 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.& was participated by 16 school teachers & specially joined by Principal Beacon House Mrs Tasneem Dogar & Headmistress Mrs Dur-Shehwar Saleem.


emed team comprised of Assistant Professor & Child specialist Dr Hina Ayesha, Head of Community Medicine Assistant Professor Dr Zahid Masood Khan, and two teachers from Forensic Medicine Assistant Professor Dr Khurram Sohail Raja, Dr Altaf Pervez Qasim and two Public emed members Mr Tariq Mushtaq & Mr
Waseem Siddique who represented parents of the children in Beacon House.

At the start of the workshop participants had a Pre-Test on their knowledge of the school health system. At the end of the lectures, an interactive session of the teachers & parents was held dividing the participants in 3 groups & they gave solution to the problems given to them. Miss Zainab Zehra represented group A while giving the solution. Miss Sara Najeeb represented group B & Mrs Shanze represented group C.

Problems given to three groups

A- A child gets an epileptic fit in your class. How will you deal with the child?

B- A child in your class is losing interest in his studies. He is not a good listener & a good performer anymore. How will you proceed with the child?

C- There is a canteen in your school from where children take their edibles.How will you check the hygiene & amp; standard of the edibles.

At the end, Headmistress Beacon House distributed certificates in the participants & in her comments termed workshop a great success. She stressed on need of such workshops in future too.
