On the request of emed public member & Principal Bahria Foundation School & College, Faisalabad, Mrs Gulshan Shahid, emed organized free tests on sugar, cholesterol, BMD (Bone Mineral Density) & Blood Calcium levels at the school followed by a meeting & an awareness lecture on the ‘Health guidelines for our children’ by Associate Professor, Dr Hina Ayesha for the ‘Mothers Group’ of Bahria Foundation.

The school had invited large number of mothers on the occasion who together with teaching staff & senior students of the school took advantage of free tests & free medical advice by Professor Ahmad Bilal, Associate Professor Dr Hina Ayesha & Dr Yasir Yaqoob, on their & their children’s health.

Session of tests was followed by a meeting & get together of ‘Mothers Group’ and was attended by teachers & students also. General Secretary emed, Dr Khurram Sohail Raja introduced emed & mothers group with their objectives. Dr Hina Ayesha presented basic guidelines on safe delivery of a woman, breast feeding, immunization, weaning, nutrition, exercise & environment of the children. Teachers & mothers took great interest in the session & passed many questions to Dr Hina Ayesha & Prof Ahmad Bilal.

Later, Prof Bilal talked on ‘Obesity & Children’ with special consideration to diabetes mellitus.

In the end, emed member & Principal of the institution, Mrs Gulshan Shahid thanked emed doctors for sparing their time & coming to their institution to give such vital information to the teachers & the mothers. She was confident of organizing more activities of mothers group in the future too under the supervision of emed doctors.
