Healthy Lifestyle & Introduction to Trauma Management

Workshop for City Traffic Police & Rescue 1122 on 21.8.2008

 

Expanding its working horizons emed exposed its base to the new collaborators as city traffic police & rescue 1122. The aim was to sensitize the partners with the versatility & motivation of emed members.

 

The occasion was the 1st workshop with the collaborating partners on ‘Healthy life style’ & ‘Introduction to the trauma management’ & was arranged on Thursday, 21.8.2008 in the CPC room of Allied hospital Faisalabad.

 

Facilitators were President emed & In charge Medical Unit-III, Allied hospital, Prof Ahmad Bilal & emed Executive council member & In charge Surgical Unit-III, Prof Sajid Sheikh & participants were Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) SP Mr Manzoor Sarwer, 14 members of educational wing of city traffic police along with their coordinator, Mr Sadiq, In charge & emergency officer of Rescue 1122 Faisalabad, emed coordinators from College of Paramedics, School of nursing in DHQ hospital, School of nursing in Allied hospital, Beacon house school & 2 members each from 2nd year, 3rd year & 4th year PMC.

 

Opening the workshop, General Secretary emed, Dr Khurram Sohail Raja welcomed the participants & projected aim & objectives of emed.

 

emed is a small payback to our country, Pakistan”. The country that has given us identity, respect and authority.  ….. Dr Khurram Raja

 

Prof Ahmad Bilal presented on healthy life style. He stressed again that lack of exercise & inclusion of junk foods & colas in our diet is destroying the health of our young generation very rapidly. It was an interactive session & participants thoroughly enjoyed it.

Prof Sajid Sheikh introduced the trauma management programme as designed & desired by the government of Punjab, Pakistan. He briefly gave the objectives & said that if city traffic police desired, emed is ready to train their officers in trauma management.

 

“We will train the city traffic officers & then if they take this training program to schools & colleges, it will be a big service to the country” …… Prof Sajid Sheikh

 

Chief Traffic Officer, Superintendent of Police, Mr Manzoor Sarwer appreciated the objectives & efforts of emed & thanked the administration to arrange the program for his officers. He desired to have collective & collaborative efforts in the future & desired to have training workshops by emed doctors to his officers.

In charge Rescue 1122 Faisalabad, Mr Riffat Zia presented the working structure of a very vigilant rescuing team in the city in case of accidents & medical emergencies & the statistics he presented was very informative for emed members. He showed his desire to join emed activities in future.

On behalf of young officers of city traffic police, their coordinator Mr Sadiq & Miss Haleema appreciated the workshop & wished to have such academic activities in future also.

 

In the end, Senor Vice President emed, Mr Tariq Mushtaq & Vice President emed, Dr Humaira Arshad distributed certificates in the participants.
