Free health camps on the platform of emed were started in 2006 and they are very regularly continued till 2010 and during this time, free screening tests and medical advice was arranged for almost all components of the community.
On the request of Mr Mohammad Ibrahim, one such camp was organized for the Press Photographers Association on 6.2.2010 in Faisalabad Press Club in which free screening tests of cholesterol, sugar, hepatitis, calcium, vitamin-D, bone mineral density (BMD) and body mass index (BMI) were done and free consultation was given by Prof Ahmad Bilal, Dr Mohammad Awais and Dr Waqas Qarshi.
For the 1st time, free examination for eye diseases was also arranged by emed and Dr Mohammad Naeem examined large number of photographers and their family members. The camp started at 12:00 p.m. and convened till 5:00 p.m without any break.
Members of electronic and paper media attended the camp including GEO, ARY, Express, Dawn, Jang, Nawai Waqt, AAJ and other prominent TV channels and newspapers.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Shahid Ali, President Faisalabad Press Club and Mr Naseer Cheema, General Secretary of the club thanked Prof Ahmad Bilal, Dr Khurram Raja and their team for responding to the request of Mr Ibrahim and arranged a camp which proved so beneficial for the members of the club.
Prof Ahmad Bilal thanked the community on their invitation and stressed upon the need of living a healthier life style for all walks of the community.
