There is a growing consensus on the training of Pakistani Police on more technical and scientific grounds. The campaign against the terrorism & growing crime rates played a pivotal role in reaching this national consensus.
The Police Department of Faisalabad District arranged a four day training program of police investigators of the district including a marathon session on ‘Interpretation of Medico legal & Autopsy Certificates in the Police Investigation’. For the topic the City Police Officer (CPO), requested Assistant Professor Forensic Medicine & District Medico Legal Officer Faisalabad (DMLO), Dr Khurram Sohail Raja to conduct the session.
Session was scheduled for 19.4.2010 when SSP Robin Yameen introduced Dr Khurram Raja to more than 100 male & female police investigators of the cadre of SP, ASP, DSP & SHOs.
Dr Khurram Raja made the session an inter-active session & the participants forwarded their questions on firearm injuries, estimation of time since death, re-examination of the medico legal cases, exhumation, DNA finger printing, Forensic aspects of crime scene investigation and interpretation of the medico-legal certificates. The session extended to more than 2 hours 30 minutes and to conclude it, ASP Jaranwala, Mr Waheed Khatak thanked the speaker on behalf of all the participants and the audience.
SP Mr Sadiq announced that such sessions will be held in future also to aware the police investigators on medico-legal issues.
