Development Organization for Social Transformation (DOST) is an NGO comprising of students of MSc Sociology in University of Agriculture Faisalabad. They are putting their best efforts for the uplifting of down trodden population of the city. They requested emed for a health camp in the Holy Rosary Church of Warrispura, Faisalabad.
Previously emed had a health camp at the same place in 2007 & it was one of the most heavily attended camps organized by emed. On Thursday, 15.4.2010, emed doctors with their full team of pharmaceutical workers conducting free screening tests on sugar, cholesterol, bone mineral density, body mass index, calcium estimation & vitamin-D estimation reached the church in a well organized camp by the Chairperson of DOST, Miss Julia Mehboob and her team.
Advisor to emed & member of its Core Committee, Mr Waseem Siddique started the camp in his supervision & well supported the doctor’s team of Dr Shahid Iqbal, Dr Yasir Zia, Dr Irfan, Dr Abdul Qadoos & Dr Ghulam Abbas.
Another NGO, ‘Rahnuma’ provided the medicines and lady doctors’ consultation headed by Dr Asma. The team of Rahnuma also addressed the women on ‘Gender Based Violence’.
Dr Khurram Raja joined the working teams & praised the efforts of emed doctors, DOST administration & team of Rahnuma.
Lunch was served to the working teams & In charge of the Holy Rosary Church; Father Pascal had a sitting with the doctors. He appreciated both camps by emed which served to elevate the awareness of the poor people of the area & hoped to have such camps in future also.
