Concept of scouts & girl guides is a universally accepted idea & their utility in producing disciplined generations is proved with the time. In Pakistan also, we owe to serve the country in whatever effective way we can & informing & training our school going children is a great service.
From the ‘vision’ to the ‘reality’ is a hard journey & its just like swimming against the tide in our unbalanced society of modern times.
Strong collaboration between Department of Education Punjab, Rescue 1122, City Traffic Police & emed finally has officially evolved in the shape of ‘emed Scouts & Guides Program’ & on 6.11.2009, the project was launched in Technical High School, D-Ground Faisalabad.
Teams of emed doctors, trained members of Rescue 1122 & City Traffic police under the guidelines of their officers gathered on the occasion & print & electronic media widely covered the occasion.
Associate Professor, Head of Community Medicine in University Medical College & member of the Advisory Council of emed, Dr Zahid Massod Khan opened the function with the introduction of the prestigious project which was follwed by a small briefing by the Public Relationing Officer (PRO) of City Traffic Police, Mohammad Sadiq on the training module of the department. Incharge Rescue 1122 in Faisalabad & Sargodha Divisions, Riffat Zia presented the two year performance of Rescue 1122 in the city. DSP Police Javed Anwar spoke as Guest of Honor from the city traffic police & Principal Punjab Medical College/Allied Hospital/DHQ Hospital, Professor Riaz Hussain Dub addressed the under training scouts & other students of the school as the Chief Guest on the occasion. He strongly appreciated the constructive activities of emed & hailed the efforts of the doctors & students of the organization that they are doing for creating health awareness in different sections of the people.
General Secretary emed, Dr Khurram Raja thanked the chief guest, guest of honors, his emed team of doctors, EDO Education Sohaib Imran, Mr Sadiq, Dastgir & team from CTP, Riffat Zia, Mustafa Dogar & team from Rescue 1122, Principal Technical School, Tauqeer Shah, focal person Masood Anwar, Naseer Cheema and team from Express TV, Khalid Sulehri, Rana John Gill & team from Royal TV & all the other people who made the project a reality in the days to come.
Event was concluded with walk by the students & guests to high light the emed scouts project & in connection with unite for diabetes campaign.
