Science of Medical Teaching is new in Pakistan & another feather in the cap of University of Health Sciences, Lahore Pakistan. Through personal & continuous efforts of Vice Chancellor UHS, Prof Dr Mubashar Malik, department of Medical education was approved by Higher Education Commission Pakistan (HEC) for professional development & audit of medical teachers.

To train teachers, to refresh their teaching skills & to develop research culture in medical teachers & medical undergraduates is need of hour in Pakistan. Medical Education section in UHS is efficiently working under Prof Dr I.A.Naveed & his staff members. In second stage, University decided to establish units of medical education department in its affiliated medical institutions over Punjab. For the purpose nominations were invited from all medical institutions & two training workshops were held at the University to select Master Trainers who will be establishing these units & then working as University representatives for professional development & audit of medical teachers. Vice Chancellor & his whole team has great expectations from all the master trainers that they will help in raising standards of medical education in Pakistan.
